241 Hotel Club Announces Facebook Competition Winner
To mark the launch of its Facebook page, 241 Hotel Club ran a competition on the social platform. It attracted a huge amount of interest and thousands of new fans, and now, 241 Hotel Club are pleased to announce the winner and runners-up.
Up for grabs was a first prize consisting of a two-night stay in a four star London Crowne Plaza hotel, complete with theatre tickets for two to a west-end hit show. In addition, 50 runners-up were awarded a 12-month membership to 241 Hotel Club UK, which usually sells for £29.99. The number of runner-up prizes was doubled shortly after the competition began to acknowledge the large number of entries and further incentivise people to share the competition with their Facebook friends.
People were required to ‘like’ 241 Hotel Club’s Facebook page in order to enter the competition. It attracted a huge amount of attention and various other websites linked to the page. This generated an unprecedented level of traffic to the 241 Hotel Club Facebook page, which in turn increased fans of the page by the thousands.
The competition was open throughout April and May 2011, and winners were drawn on the 8th June 2011. Barry Cox from Norwich was elated to find out he’d won the top prize, saying “Thank you. My wife will be delighted.”
The 50 runners-up represent a wide demographic of the public from across England, Scotland and Wales. “I was delighted to hear I’d won a runner-up prize in the Facebook competition.” says Alison Cairns from Scotland, “I’m looking forward to taking advantage of some great hotel deals over the coming year. Thanks very much 241 Hotel Club!”
